Argus Technologies offers comprehensive DC Power Training course
in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Developed specifically for Argus customers, the course is intended to complement the basic electrical knowledge of Telecommunications technicians/engineers with specialized training in modern DC power systems and components. The focus for the classes will be on the Argus Cordex series of power system controllers and rectifiers;however,legacy products (Pathfinder,SM,RST,RSM) will be covered.Many of the engineering, installation and maintenance practices are applicable to all types of power systems. Students will receive certificates upon successful completion of the course. Tutorials Session 1 DC power system design and engineering · Learn the functionality and operation of the components in the DC power system · Design and size DC power systems and components Session 2 Site engineering for DC power · Learn to engineer a DC Power installation includes, cable sizing, floor plan layout, grounding, surge protection, etc. Session 3 Power system installation and commissioning · Learn the basics of installing a DC power system · Safety requirements · Learn how to turn up and commission a DC power system · Focus on Cordex based power systems Session 4 Power system operation, maintenance and field repair · Focus on Cordex based power systems · Learn how to set up, adjust and maintain the DC power system. · Extensive use of the various Argus software configuration tools. gain practical experience programming and adjusting CXC controller using front panel and web interface. 2.
Basic
installation practices (2 hrs.) ·
Student will gain practical experience applying
safety techniques, crimping, working on
a live DC power system. Optional
Hands-on Sessions (select) 3. 10,000A power system assembly (2hrs.) · Students will gain practical experience assembling an Argus 10,000 Amp power system. Bus bar assembly and electrical connections will be reviewed. Includes the Pathfinder 48-10kW rectifier and SM02 controller. 4. SM02/03/04 power system controller operation and adjustment (2 hrs.) ·
Student will gain practical experience for
maintaining and adjusting the SM02 controller and Pathfinder series of
rectifiers. ·
Using Argus Insight software the student will
gain practical experience programming the SM02 controller. ·
Student will gain practical experience for
adjusting and configuring the Argus SM03 and SM04 power system controllers. 5. RSM, RST, CS, CSM and, SD operation and adjustment (2 hrs.) · Student will gain practical experience for maintaining and adjusting: · the smaller Argus rectifier systems, including the RSM 48/10 a modular rectifier system using 10 Amp power modules and the RSM 48/7.5 a modular rectifier system using 7.5 Amp power modules. · RSM series of rectifiers including 48/30, 48/50, 48/100, 24/50 and 24/100. · RST series of rectifiers · CS and CSM series of DC-DC converters · SD series of system controllers
